Identify any song playing around you, without ever leaving Spotify.
The problem
Listeners identify a track in Shazam or SoundHound, then switch to Spotify to save it. Every extra app costs time, and with Shazam built into Siri, every lookup risks sending a listener to Apple Music.
The solution
After an update, a short intro explains the new floating Spotifind button.
Every song you’ve Spotifound, organized by date and filterable by week, month or year.
A live feed of what your friends have Spotifound and are playing right now.

The process
5 interviews with Spotify subscribers who also use Shazam or SoundHound, plus a competitive analysis.
An affinity map, two personas (Zack and Eddie) and three How-Might-We questions.
Sketches and mid-fi wireframes, a new nav icon (a location pin with a music note) and Spotify’s own components.
3 Spotify users tried Siri activation, the floating button and the dashboard.
Results
Every tester moved through every task with ease and gave each a 10 out of 10, especially the floating button and friends’ activity.
Built entirely from Spotify’s existing components and colors, the feature feels like it could ship tomorrow.
Reflection
My favorite project so far. Designing inside Spotify’s brand pushed me to keep the feature simple, realistic and exciting.
